    • Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Broadband Router
    • Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router

What to expect

The LifeDrive Update 2.0 will change the permanent (ROM) software in your mobile manager. Please set aside at least 20 minutes to complete the update process.

Caution: This update will erase all data in Program Memory. Read the instructions in the installer carefully. They are the key to backing up and restoring your personal data.

After the update is complete, you will restore your data to your device from these backups. However, some third-party applications change the way your device backs up data. Other third-party applications do not back up data. If you have third-party software on your device, please contact the developer to learn what components are backed up during a HotSync operation, and if HotSync conduits are altered. Any data not backed up will be lost.

This update does not erase the contents of your Internal Drive (pictures, music and documents) or an inserted expansion card.

System Requirements
  • LifeDrive mobile manager
  • At least 23 MB free memory on your LifeDrive.
  • Windows 2000/XP, or Macintosh OS 10.2.6 to 10.4.x
  • You must have synchronised at least once with your PC or Macintosh before you can install the update (i.e. a user folder for the device exists on the computer).
  • Battery is fully charged and device is connected to a power supply.
  • Note: This update cannot be installed with LifeDrive Manager to your device's hard drive. It must be installed to Program Memory through a HotSync operation. Complete instructions below.
IMPORTANT: If you are using a Chinese Language device, do NOT install this software. A Chinese Language version of this update is not available at this time.

Download and  Install

Windows:

Prepare Your LifeDrive Device

  1. Connect your device to its charger. It needs to be connected throughout the update.
  2. Backup your LifeDrive.
  3. Make sure you know your device's username: how to find it.

Download and Install

  1. Download LifeDrive_Update_2_0_EFIGS_win.zip
    (21.3 MB ZIP File).
  2. Unzip the file you just downloaded.
  3. Double-click the file you unzipped: LifeDrive 2.0 Updater.exe.
  4. Carefully follow all instructions in the installer.
  5. The update process will auto-start after you complete a HotSync operation (as instructed by the installer). Do not disconnect your power cable during the process.
Note: During the update process, your device may reset several times. This is normal. If your device takes more than 30 seconds to turn back on, or will not power on, perform a soft reset.
  6. When the update is complete, your device will ask you to tap a series of targets. Do this, then set the time and date on your device. Then select Done.
  7. After the update finishes on your device, the installer will ask you to perform another HotSync operation to restore your data. Important: When asked for your username, select the same username that you looked up earlier. The backed up personal data and applications will be restored to your device.

Restore Data

  1. The installer includes a final HotSync operation to restore your personal data and applications in Program Memory.
  2. If you have paired Bluetooth wireless devices, you will need to re-pair those devices now. The secure pairing files are not backed up or restored with synchronisation.

Download SplashMoney

  2. Make sure you know your device's username: how to find it. You will need this to restore your data.

  4. Perform a HotSync® operation to back up your data. Make sure your conduits are set to "Synchronise the files" (how).
  5. Next, you will be performing a hard reset.

  8. When the update is complete, your device will display a series of targets to calibrate the touchscreen. Do this, then set the time and date on your device. Then select Done.

Restore Data

  1. Perform a HotSync operation. Important: When asked for your username, select the same username that you looked up earlier. The backed up personal data and applications will be restored to your device.

    2. From the HotSync menu, select User, then Edit Users.

    3. Click on the new username you created above (such as "TempDelete").
